Assembly instructions for MDF-panels

Ceiling Panels

Before the assembly

• Please note that the panels are intended for indoor use only, and they must not come into direct contact with water.
• Any complaints about defects in the products can only be made before they are installed.
• We do not recommend using ceiling panels together with ceiling heating.
• Large common surfaces from any given production batch.
• Room temperature and humidity must be normal. The room temperature must be approx. 20 °C and the relative humidity of air approx. 40%. In other words, the walls and ceiling of the room must be dry, and the windows and doors must be glazed.
• The panels should not be exposed to constant heat of above 110°C.
• Panel temperature and humidity must be allowed to settle to the same temperature and humidity with the assembly environment for about 72 hours before fastening. It is not necessary to open the packages completely. It is enough to make holes at the ends of the packages, so any moisture can escape.

• The distance between the joists should be approx. 400 mm or less (max 300 mm for 8x160 and 10x195 panels), so the ceiling does not begin to ‘slouch’
• Make sure that there is sufficient air circulation behind the panels. If necessary, remove the bottom panels or attach reverse panels.
• Make sure that the bottom panels are straight, even if the ceiling is uneven.

• We recommend that you install the panels by using a stapling gun that is operated by compressed air. Use a staple that is at least 22 mm long, 9 mm wide and 1.6 mm thick. (For 8x160 and 10x195 panels, use a staple that is 22 mm long, 11 mm wide and 1.6 mm thick.)
• Shoot the staple diagonally into the long, protruding lower lip of the groove.
• To make installation of the panels possible, the staple must remain flush with the groove. The staple must not sink deep inside the groove, because then the panel will not be fastened properly.
• Leave at least 12 mm expansion gap between wall and the panels. If the slope exceeds the length or width of 6 meters, is expansion gap added 2 mm per exceeded meter.  The joint will be covered with fold molding /cornice.

Assembly

• You can affect the appearance of the ceiling by the way you position the seams of the grooves. You can make patterns in your ceiling by alternating the location of the end seams.

Safety instructions

• Do not attach any light fittings or other heavy objects to the panel - instead, they should be attached directly to the mounting base.

Wall panels

Base

• Distance between the joists should be 600mm or smaller.
• Please note! If using on brick walls please ensure that there is an adequate airflow behind the panels.
• Ensure that the wall or joist is even before the assembly.

Assembly

• We recommend using a pressure staple gun for assembling panels. Use a staple that is at least 22 mm long, 9 mm wide and 1.6 mm thick.
• Staple is shot diagonally into the lower lip of the groove.
• The staple has to go in at the same level with the groove, so the panels can be fixed together. The staple must not sink deep into the groove as then the panel will not fix in properly.
• Leave an expansion gap that is at least 2mm per wall meter in width, between the wall/ceiling and panel. The gap will be covered with coving /cornice, corner- or flexible strip.

Safety instructions

• Do not attach lighting or other heavy objects to the panelling, these should be installed directly to the mounting base.
